At Sanctum Medical Aesthetics, we are passionate about recognising and supporting the beautiful and inspiring women in our community. To celebrate Mother’s Day this year, we are chatting to some of these women about Motherhood and spoiling them to a little self-care with a Sanctum Signature Facial.

Q&A
Why is looking after you skin important to you?
I’ve had lots of skin problems in the past; acne and perioral dermatitis and it really affected my confidence, having good skin makes me feel more confident and helps me face the challenges I may come up against.
What is one thing you hope your son/daughter remembers of their childhood?
That he remembers just being happy, safe and loved.
If you could talk to your Pre-motherhood self, what advice would you give her?
Haha! A lot! But mostly – don’t sweat the small stuff, all kids need is love, care and your full attention when they need it
What is the best/your favourite characteristic you have inherited from your Mother?
When I reflect on when I was growing up, my Mum was so incredibly supportive of all my extracurricular activities and would go above and beyond to get me up early or stay up late to ferry me around and make sure I was fed without any fuss or complaining, I feel as though I inherited this, we both just get on with things and get things done without much complaining, I suppose then her tenacity.
What message do you have for Mums this year given the challenges we are all living through?
To focus on all the small positives and not dwell on the negatives, like all the simple things, like your kid’s laugh or that they are hopefully happy and healthy, or clean sheet day, or treating yourself to a nice facial at Sanctum.
Tell us one thing that surprised you about yourself when becoming a Mother?
A lot of it came much more naturally than I’d expected, I didn’t consider myself to be very maternal but I’m surprised how natural some things are and how your gut instinct/Motherly instincts kick in automatically.
